Am I Thankful?
By Selma Komisky
“Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God‘s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus”
– Thessalonians 5:18 (NLT)
How do you feel when someone forgets to thank you for something nice you did? Being honest, it doesn’t feel very good, right? So this Thanksgiving, why not practice being thankful? God wants us to give thanks and we need to be reminded to be thankful everyday.
Here are some easy ways to show God and others you’re thankful.
1. Make a Card
Write to someone and say thank you. Words of gratitude go a long way.
2. Journal With Gratitude
It feels good to be able to express ourselves and write about the things we are thankful for everyday.
3. Create a Thank You Box
At the end of the week, you and your family can take a look at the prayers that were answered and then give thanks for them.
4. Volunteer For a Charity or Help Someone in Need
It helps us to remember how blessed we are when we help someone less fortunate than us, so grab some friends and go out and give.
5. Make A DIY Thanksgiving Placemat
Do something nice for your family and friends and pass out Thanksgiving placemats where guests can write what they are thankful for this year. It’s a fun and creative way to share what you are thankful for and inspire others to be thankful as well!
