Film Preview: ‘Revive Us 2’

Kirk Cameron is meeting up with his family (AKA the church) again in movie theaters nationwide for two nights this fall to inspire hope, courage, and unity. The live broadcast entitled Revive Us 2 will occur on location at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. on October 24th and follow with an encore screening on November 1st.

Last October, the first family meeting (Revive Us), was centered along one central theme – Christ being our solution. With a variety of guest speakers and worship leaders such as Dr. Ben Carson, Francis Chan, Dr. James MacDonald, Eric Metaxas, Jennifer Rothschild, and War Room’s “Miss Clara” (Karen Abercrombie), each brought a unique perspective that did not point fingers but instead, pointed to God.

With a balance of love and truth, Revive Us didn’t sugarcoat our nation’s demise and darkness, but gave an honest diagnosis with an optimistic solution. Through worship (Passion Band) as well as the Word, audiences were brought in together as a family to have a living room conversation that inspired action.

Cameron as well as other guests didn’t rely on deep theology or heavy politics. Also, they also didn’t deviate with ongoing dialogue regarding our country’s roots. The focus was always God and the message was delivered in humility, calling viewers to rely on prayer, the Bible, community, and the love that comes from God in order to bring change that is truly good and lasting.

Regarding last year’s event Cameron shares, “When we did Revive Us, the overwhelming response from our audience was thankfulness for such an encouraging event during such a divisive time. Spontaneous prayer sessions broke out afterward in theaters to pray for our nation! Thousands committed to putting faith in action. But that event wasn’t a finish line. It was a starting line. With political, racial, economic and religious tensions on the rise in America, we need unity and a path to get there now more than ever. Revive Us 2 seeks to find a faith-filled solution for everyone.”

Setting a record for the largest live event in Fathom Events history, Revive Us changed history when weeks after its broadcast, the largest number of evangelicals voted in history. Now, coming back this year, Revive Us 2 picks us where we are currently at in our world.

With a lineup of new friends such as Ravi Zacharias, Joni Eareckson Tada, Trillia Newbell, musical guests Zach Williams and Christian Cuevas as well as old friends like Dr. Ben Carson, Revive Us 2 is bound to be just as powerful as the first meeting when the focus will again be God.

On the subject, Fathom Events CEO-elect, Ray Nutt says, “Now for the second time, audiences throughout the country will get the chance to connect with their community on important issues facing the country and the world today. Revive Us 2 will no doubt be a special event unlike any other.”
