“…for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ…”

– Philippians 1:5

It is said that two are better than one and for a good reason! Everyone loves a good partnership: Lennon and McCartney, Lewis and Tolkien, Fred and Ginger, Ben and Jerry, Lucas and Spielberg, Lucy and Ricky, and who can forget Buzz and Woody? Beloved duos with the sharing and appreciation of mutual passions for a singular cause create something incredible that blazes a trail, leaves a legacy, and changes our world as we know it. Additionally, it’s their differences (when they’re appreciated) that complement the pairing. Although each person is undeniably individual, it’s the correct collective combination that can make a team truly legendary. Whether it’s art, humor, culinary interest, or even Pixar characters uniting for the common good, the power of partnership should never be underestimated.

That is why I am so excited about teaming up with my friend, Ben Courson (Hope Generation)! When the Note to Guys section was expanding and in need of a male voice, it seemed Ben’s mutual vision for hope for this generation was a clear fit for our magazine. After an interview, the idea of collaborating just seemed to come naturally and we both agreed.

In the short time I’ve been privileged to work with Ben, I can say that I admire his intentionality, genuine care for people, passion, and adventurous spirit that makes teaming up so much fun. Although he is the Ben Courson that travels, writes, speaks, and is a TV and radio personality, I’ve been invited to simply know him as Ben. He has often said when speaking that “There needs to be more Tiggers in this world and less Eeyore’s,” and I totally agree. While I would liken this partnership as more of a Tigger and Winnie the Pooh combination, I’d say it’s Ben’s enthusiasm that balances my easy-going demeanor. Yet it’s both of our equal passions for God, unconventionality, love for adventure, and ability to dream big that makes me anticipate the possibilities for the future of this magazine even more!

To kick things off, we felt it would only be fitting to do something fun and out of the box, so here’s a look at our first mini shoot! Our prayer is that our teaming up will make its mark for good and inspire you to form your own world-changing partnerships in your life. Enjoy!
