What God Can Do!
By Roselyn Barrios
Hi everyone! I hope you all are having a great summer if you’re out of school. As we go into summer, we’re going to have plenty of time to be with our family members and friends, and we also need to have time for God. We should believe that we have the shield of God. When we think of shields, we think of them as protecting us from getting hurt. And that’s kind of like God; He will always be there and make sure we won’t get hurt. We may not think that he is always there but He is.
The devil tries to tempt us with bad things, but if you have the armor of God, we can’t be tempted by any of the Devil’s plans. In Ephesians 6:10-11, it states, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” As I was thinking of what to write, my dad showed me this and it spoke to me because, when I think of armor, I think of something that will protect me like a shield. This verse can help all of us understand that with God we can do anything, and we could also help people know what God can do.
If you have any family members or friends who are not believers, you could talk about it little by little; that way you don’t rush anything and make it seem like you’re putting pressure on them to become believers. It takes a little while for nonbelievers to become Christians. It sticks out when people see us being who we are in God’s eyes.
Also, at our age, people like to see what this generation has become, knowing that some teens are already doing what they love. When people see us praying, reading our Bible, or even just talking to our God, it really shows how committed we are. Our lives are great with God and some people’s lives aren’t. So when they see how happy we are – even through hard times when we talk about how God has helped us – they would want to have that happiness. So be prepared for anything. People might come up to us and say, “Who is God?” And we have to be prepared to know what to say. If someone went up to me and asked me that question, I would say, “God is my Savior and to others, who loved the world so much He gave His only Son to die on the cross for my sins and millions of others.” You don’t have to say that exact thing, but just know that not only is God a person, He is also our Savior. If you have any questions about the armor of God, or just general questions, comment below and we will get back to you.
I love you all and God bless you.
