The Thanksgiving Issue

By Sarah Komisky

Every Thanksgiving, one of the traditions my family has is to go around the dinner table and share something we are thankful for. For me, it’s one of my favorite things in the day (besides all the yummy food!). There is something about gratitude, when expressed, that is truly infectious! Expressing our thankfulness to God as a family is powerful. We worship and direct our focus to the One deserving of our thanks. But also, when we express our thanks for one another, we share God’s love. In that process, words of affirmation speak life.

This is why for this November, the MM team and I wanted to invite you to sit around our Friendsgiving table and give thanks with us! Each of us, having something unique on our hearts we are thankful for, can’t wait to share it! James 1:17 says, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” That means that every good thing we have or experience is given by a good God whose good nature does not change. Therefore, praise is a given!

In turn, we pray that these articles, a reflection of our hearts, will ignite your heart to praise God and show your gratitude. We’re going to count the ways He’s been good to us with our MM team and friends we welcome at our table.

Plus, no Friendsgiving is complete without fall décor and lots of good food! This is why we’re going to share some of our favorite recipes, coffee stopping grounds, and even best places to experience the most out of your autumn season, to celebrate this November.

So, grab a chair, my friend—join our table and give thanks!

Blessings,

Sarah
