Eyes on Eternity

By Kailyn

Hey, Marked Ministry Teens! I hope all of you are doing well and I pray for good health over all y’all. With all the schools shutting down and businesses closing due to the Coronavirus, we are witnessing history being made. If you know someone with Coronavirus or are struggling with all the major changes and being stuck inside and 6 ft apart from any other person, put a comment in the comment box at the end of this article; the Marked Ministry team, and I, will pray for you.

With all the panic of the Coronavirus, some people are wondering where they will spend eternity. Now is a good time to tell people about Jesus. Webster’s dictionary defines eternity as a seemingly endless, immeasurable or infinite time; the quality or state of being eternal. Eternity isn’t just a place you go after you die–– it is forever. Non believers think that there is no life after death, but Jesus promised us eternal life in 1 John 2:25. Death is inevitable. If you go to heaven, you will spend eternity with God, where there is no sadness, pain, suffering or any tears. If you spend eternity in Hell, you will be forever tormented and tortured. The only way to Heaven is through Jesus Christ. To get to salvation, you must believe that Jesus died on the cross and confess with your mouth that he is Christ the Lord. God sent his son to die for us so we could spend Eternity with him, like it says in John 3:16.

The Bible tells about a man’s conversation with Jesus on the topic of how to get to eternity. Matthew 19:16-17 says, “Then a man came to Jesus and asked, ‘Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?’ ‘Why do you ask me about what is good?’ Jesus replied,  ‘There is only one who is good. If you want eternal life, keep the commandments.’”

Only relying on good works is not enough to get you to heaven. You must truly believe in God. All in all, eternity will be the best thing that will ever happen to you. You don’t have to earn eternity, because it was earned by the blood of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior. Eternity is a gift. You can’t bring anything with you to eternity because “Everything that is not eternal is worthless in eternity” – C.S. Lewis.

One last thought, You get to choose where we get to spend eternity. John 5:24 says, “I tell you the truth, whoever hears what I say and believes in the one who sent me has eternal life. That person will not be judged guilty, but has already left death and entered eternal life.”
