Summer Refreshment

It is summer time, and it is super hot!  You need refreshments, like drinks, to cool you off, right? Just like when you need to cool down from something that made you mad, and you need to talk to God to help you cool down. God’s word tells us that reading the Bible will bring refreshment. “The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.” Psalm 19:7 (NIV). By reading the Bible we can feel the refreshment of the Lord in our life. When we feel mad or even sad, the Word of God can help us fill us up.

Jesus also says that he gives us water. This water not only cools us of like a drink of ice water when it’s hot or jumping into a pool, but it also makes sure that we stay refreshed. Jesus says, “But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” John 4:14 (NLT). We can know that no matter how hot it is, we will always have refreshment.
