Spring Fashions 2016
By Jenn Marin
Every December, Pantone (a New Jersey based company) forecasts the new trends in colors for the upcoming year. For 2016, they chose a palette of 10, but the top hues are Serenity and Rose Quartz.

According to Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone’s Executive Director, these were chosen because “in many parts of the world we are experiencing a gender blur as it relates to fashion, which has in turn impacted color trends…”
When I saw the colors, I was excited. They are gorgeous, romantic and soft, but the idea behind the choice was a very sad commentary on the world today. I was disheartened. The next morning, the Lord brought me back to reality! My son, on the drive to school, snapped the opening photo of this article. There they were, the two colors of the year, blazing in the sky! Grand and striking! Colors God created! The ultimate trendsetter!
In Psalm 19:1, we read, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands” (NIV). Let’s incorporate these beautiful colors into our wardrobe and be proud that we wear these colors and all colors, in honor of Him.
