Spring is officially here! Longer lighter days, milder temperatures and the sweet sound of birds chirping…It’s a refreshing season after a long cold winter and I, for one, am welcoming Spring back with eagerly awaited open arms! This new season also brings an exciting buzz for all us fashion enthusiasts, I mean, any excuse to reframe your current look right? It’s time to say, “bye-bye weighty winter wardrobe” and, “hello sunny spring styles!”

My “time to update the wardrobe excitement” quickly turned into disappointment when I checked out the highlights from London Fashion Week back in February. Put it this way, the runways for Spring 2022 had me literally wanting to run-away back to where I came from – my wrapped up winter wardrobe! It was every Jesus and fashion-loving girl’s worst nightmare – yep, dominating the catwalks was the comeback of the micro mini skirt, sheer materials, and the low rise waist, eek!  

But don’t panic, never one to be defeated, I made it my mission to dig a little deeper to check out the other trends that were humbly owning the catwalks for spring 22, and hey, guess what? My faith was restored. Who needs the micro-mini when there are so many stunning must-have pieces that are fun, fabulous, and faithful to what we, as God’s daughters, stand for.

Here are my 5 spring must-have trends that will give your wardrobe the ultimate shakeup and spring clean it’s been begging you for:

BIG BAGS.

Big bulky bags are back. Great news for those of us who have been struggling to stuff our daily essentials into the micro-mini bag for the last few years! We are talking totes in every way imaginable – woven, structured, squishy, puffed, and in every bold and brilliant color.  Basically, if you can fit more than your phone, purse, lipstick, and sunnies into it, plus your Bible, you’re onto a winner.

HYPER FEMINININE.

A sweet and pretty style that after living in your covid sweats for the last two years will appear like a dream. Flowy and frothy fabrics mixed with petals and pinks will be owning the spring streets. From pleated skirts to puffed feminine sleeves, this trend puts the girly back into girl.

LIQUID METALLICS.

Shimmering metallics will spice up any dull outfit. So if your budget only allows one key item this spring, this trend is your champion. Shiny statement sneakers and shirts are just stunning with your tired denim and don’t be afraid to limit the sheen to just golds and silvers, be brave in metallic greens and oranges. 

BOHEMIAN CHIC.

Spring 22 is bringing back a 70’s revival! Go raid your grannie’s closet, pronto! Think geographic prints, suede, fringes, and flares. This trend is so playful and allows creativity. It’s like the fancy dress but just way cooler.

TAILORED SUITS.

Working from home is officially out and back to the office is officially in. And this sophisticated trend makes the return to the office just slightly less painful. Ooze cosmopolitan in a striking white tailored suit or dress like the cool kids in a hot pink satin blazer dress and heels. Working 9-5 just got super fine.
