Shining The Light: Is Purity ‘No Fun?’
By Jaelyn
Have you ever felt like purity was taking away your fun? People often think that purity is just about saving yourself until marriage and that it’s just a bunch of rules that you have to follow. Like, You can’t have sex until marriage and you can’t go to parties, and drink and smoke weed.
In my opinion, I think purity actually helps you in the present and in the long run. Saving yourself for marriage is very important. When you have sex with someone it leaves a part of you with the person you had sex with. Girls or guys tend to feel insecure or feel like they aren’t good enough after they do it. They begin to have trust issues in the future and they feel used.
All of us have this void that we have to fill and we often run to drugs, sex, and everything else to fill it. We have to realize that the only one that can fill that void is Jesus! True contentment comes from accepting Christ and having faith that in Him you will have everything you need. Christ is sufficient, and His promises are enough. 1 Timothy 6:6 says, “But Godliness actually is a source of great gain.” When you have sex or lose your virginity that doesn’t mean that you’re not good enough.
Don’t listen to the lies of the enemy or what people think of you because you have had sex or lost your virginity! What you did yesterday, today, or in the past doesn’t define who you are. You are a child of the highest and Jesus forgives you. You are enough, you are beautiful, and Jesus has a purpose and a plan for your life!
You are not alone. Hope you have an amazing day and don’t forget that Jesus loves you and so do I!
